1. About us and these terms

These terms apply to anything you buy from, or donate to, New Beginnings through beginnings.org.uk. By placing an order you agree to them, so please read them before you buy.

New Beginnings UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1195427). Our address is Prospect House, Featherstall Road South, Oldham, England.

These terms do not affect your legal rights as a consumer under UK law.

2. Ordering shahadah boxes

We sell shahadah boxes and gift packs to individuals and organisations. You can buy a box for yourself, for someone else, or donate a box for us to give to a new Muslim.

The contents and price of each box are shown on the product page at the time you order. Photos are for illustration; items may vary slightly if something is out of stock, but we will always replace it with something of similar value.

Payments are taken securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

Your order is accepted when we send you an email confirmation. If we cannot fulfil an order, for example because an item is unavailable, we will tell you and refund you in full.

3. Delivery

We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom. We aim to dispatch orders within 21 working days, and delivery usually takes a further 3 working days.

Please make sure the delivery address is correct. If you are sending a box as a gift, you are responsible for giving us the recipient's correct details.

If your order has not arrived within 45 days of your order date, contact us and we will send a replacement or refund you in full.

4. Your right to cancel and return

You can cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason. To cancel, email info@beginnings.org.uk with your name and order details.

Once you have told us, return the box within 14 days, unused and in its original condition. You pay the cost of returning it unless the item is faulty. We will refund you, including the original standard delivery charge, within 14 days of receiving the return.

Some items cannot be returned once opened: food, such as sweets, and sealed hygiene items, such as perfume, once the seal has been broken. The rest of the box can still be returned.

If you bought a box as a gift, the cancellation and refund are handled with you, the person who placed the order. The recipient can contact us, but refunds go back to the original payment method.

5. Faulty or damaged items

If anything arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, contact us within 30 days with a photo if possible. We will replace the item or refund you, and cover any return postage.

This is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

6. Donations

Donations, including donated shahadah boxes, monthly giving and Ramadan donations, are voluntary gifts to the charity, not purchases. The cancellation rights in section 4 do not apply to them.

If you make a donation by mistake or for the wrong amount, contact us within 14 days and we will do our best to refund it. You can cancel a regular donation at any time by contacting us or through the platform you used to set it up.

Donations made through third-party platforms, such as CAF Donate, are also subject to that platform's terms.

7. Using our website

The content on beginnings.org.uk belongs to New Beginnings and may not be reproduced without our written permission. The personal views of guests, volunteers, employees or contributors featured on our platforms are their own and are not endorsed by us.

We are not responsible for any loss that was not foreseeable, or for loss caused by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the website when you place your order is the one that applies.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are unhappy with anything, please contact us first at info@beginnings.org.uk so we can try to put it right.
