Scafell Pike

Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England at 978m (3,209ft) and a popular challenge for walkers visiting the Lake District. Most first-time visitors use the Wasdale Head route, which is the shortest and most straightforward, taking around 4–6 hours return depending on pace and conditions. The climb is suitable for people with a moderate level of fitness, but it is still a demanding mountain walk with steep sections, loose rocks, and uneven terrain.

The hike will be guided by Badr Adventures. First-timers should wear sturdy walking boots, bring water, food, and a waterproof jacket, and be prepared for rapidly changing weather, even in summer. A map or GPS is recommended, as visibility on the summit can deteriorate quickly in cloud or mist.

Our route to the summit: We’ll be taking the Corridor Route to Scafell Pike. The tarn at the halfway point is a good turn-back spot for anyone who doesn’t want to go all the way to the top.

Children

Children are welcome to attend. They may not be able to make the full climb to the summit, so please bear that in mind. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children at all times. There’s a river and waterfall on site, so please supervise your children closely around those areas.

Tent-Sharing

Tents are 4-6 people. If you wish to have a smaller number of people in your tent or an individual tent, there will be an extra charge. Please let us know.

Cancellation

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the hike for any reason, you will receive a full refund. We are not able to cover additional travel expenses nor are we responsible for any consequential expenses incurred as a result of any cancellation. If you cancel for any reason, we cannot guarantee a refund. We encourage you to try and find someone else to take your space. If we have a waiting list, we will most certainly try and offer your space to others.
