We’re excited to invite you to our summer BBQ and hike, a fantastic event for everyone to enjoy great food, activities, and good company. Whether you’re coming with family, friends, or on your own, there’s something for everyone! We can’t wait to meet you.
Who Is It For?
This event is open to everyone! It’s a perfect opportunity to meet new people and enjoy a delicious barbecue. Children under two can attend for free and do not need to register, but all other attendees need a ticket.
Standard ticket: £15 per person (includes BBQ meal)
Ticket including transport: £25 (includes BBQ meal & round-trip transportation via minibus from Bury). The minibus departs from Bury in the morning and returns to Bury after the barbecue.
Date: 25th August, 11am – 4pm (10am for minibus)
Location: The day begins with an exciting morning trail at Bolton Abbey in Skipton, Yorkshire, followed by a delicious barbecue lunch.

Can I park if I am driving to the Bolton venue?
If you are travelling by car, there is a fee for parking at the BBQ location. Parking fees are additional to the event ticket prices. You can book a parking space online. You must pre-book your parking at the Barden Bridge Car Park as soon as possible. The car park fills up quickly, so booking in advance is crucial to secure your space. The ticket is transferable so you can also use it in the bottom abbey village car park in the morning. Please avoid leaving this until the day of the event. Once we finish our walk, we’ll drive over to Barden Bridge Car Park, where we’ll enjoy the barbecue together. Make sure your parking is confirmed to avoid any issues on the day.
Can I attend the hike without the barbecue?
Yes. Those who do not require a meal or transport can meet at Bolton Abbey at 11am for the hike without registering.
What type of food will be served?
A variety of delicious barbecue options, including vegetarian choices.
What will the weather be like?
Please bring sunscreen, hats, comfortable casual or sporty clothing & picnic blanket. In the event of potential rain, please bring waterproof equipment. We will be able to judge based on the forecast nearer to the time.
How do I get there?
There will be car-sharing opportunities from various cities, please email us for more details. For those who opted for the transport option, the minibus will depart from Bury, Greater Manchester. The return trip will be scheduled to ensure everyone gets back safely after a fantastic day. Only 14 spaces are available on the minibus. This option will be removed from the form once spaces are taken.
